FAQ
How long will it take you to complete my project?
Writing projects vary greatly — writing a 350-word web article, for example, takes far less time than editing an 80,000-word manuscript. Once you’ve provided me with the details of your project, I can give you an accurate time line, and I will commit to that time line.
Do you accept all writing projects?
No. For example, I will not write your term paper. If a project is outside my scope of expertise, I will not accept the work, but I will try to help you find another writer who would be a better match. I have growing network of professional writers and in most cases, I can provide you with an excellent referral.
The writing project I have in mind would involve working with several individuals within my company. Are you willing to work as part of a team?
Yes, I would be happy to work as part of a team. In fact, I’d enjoy that very much!
What is your confidentiality policy?
I do not share or distribute any information about my clients. I may request the use of the final material as part of my portfolio, but would request permission in writing, on the contract.
Do you include search engine optimization (SEO) in the web copy you write?
When I write web copy, I always keep the basics of search engine optimization in mind. However, I am not in the business of optimizing web sites, so I can not offer any guarantee that the content will increase your search engine rankings in any way.
Are you available for in-person meetings?
I am available for in-person meetings in Marin and Sonoma counties (California). Please note that I charge hourly rates for consultations, including travel time.
What if I am not satisfied with your work?
You will be. I ask that my clients read three to five samples of my work before signing a work agreement contract. This ensures that you are familiar with my style. If you like the style of my articles, portfolio, and sample work, than you will be pleased with the work I do for you as well.
Who owns the material if I’ve paid you to write it?
Ownership of the material transfers to the client when final payment is received.
Can I send you a hard copy of my manuscript?
I prefer to share files online through e-mail, but if you are more comfortable with standard mail, I would be happy to oblige. Do note, however, that all shipping and printing costs are passed on to the client, and that using traditional mailing methods increase a project time line considerably.
I just requested a quote through your web site. How long will it take for you to get back to me?
You will usually hear back from me within one business day.
What should I do if I have more questions?
Please contact me with any questions you have. I will usually get back to you within one business day and there’s a good chance I’ll add your question to this page!
